OHeads-Up Game in Poker
If you are playing against an opponent you must follow a completely different strategy than when competing against several players. You must pay for each hand or at lest for most of them. You can not afford to wait for a premium poker hand and fold to any raise. If you play too passively, soon or later, you will lose most of your stack by only paying the blinds.
David Sklansky has written that in heads-up it all cames down to steal blinds as much as possible and lure the enemy into an expensive poker hand once one you hold a premium poker hand.
In any case, you should gain experience in this category. In most poker rooms there is a separate heads-up area and on the low levels there you meet often easy opponents. In the heads-up, for example, a bluff is less dependent on the cards since you have no time to wait for big pairs or AK. Each pair, any ace is already a good hand - regardless of the kicker.
